A dashboard provides a rich user interface that displays the information in a graphical form using a variety of elements including charts, tables and gauges. These elements reduce the time spent on analyzing the data using databases and thus assist in automating the business decision making process (Malik, 2005).

This thesis focuses on enhancing user interaction with BI dashboards, through (1) easy creation & customization of dashboard for a broader user range, (2) adding novel annota- tion support for analysis, and (3) use of visual storytelling for communicating dashboard analysis results.
