The exams will be conducted in different parts of the Philippines, including NCR, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legaspi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga. The exam will take place on November 12 and 13, 2022.

The exam is administered by the Board of Nursing headed by its Chairman, Elsie A. Tee, and its members, Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Merle L. Salvani, Zenaida C. Gagno, Leah Primitiva S. Paquiz, Marylou B. Ong, Elizabeth C. Lagrito.

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

• Official Receipt of payment of application for examination
• Notice of admission
• One (1) piece metered-stamped window mailing envelope
• Two (2) or more pencils (No. 2)
• Ballpens with black ink only
• One (1) piece long brown envelope
• One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
• Health Forms (Pursuant to Joint Administrative Order No. 01 (s 2021))
• Negative RT-PCR Test Results,  if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine or Certificate or copy of Vaccination Card for fully vaccinated examinees to the proctor on the examination day.
• Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula 
• PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATORS, especially CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus
• CELLULAR PHONES, EARPLUGS, TRANSMITTERS, PORTABLE COMPUTERS, SMART WATCHES, BLUETOOTH and other electronic gadgets/devices which may be used for communication purposes.
• Any type of bag
• Other examination aides not stated
• For male examinees, a tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark) paired with decent pants or slacks.
• For female examinees, a tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark) paired with decent pants or slacks.

During the PRC licensure exams, the following precautionary health and safety rules must be followed at all times:

• Observe physical distancing of at least two (2) meters between examinees.
• Examinees shall be restricted to their assigned seat;
• Wear face mask (at least 3-ply surgical mask, preferably N95 mask) and face shield at all times; 
• Bring 70% ethyl alcohol for hand disinfection;
• Avoid close contacts like “beso-beso”, hugging, handshake, and directly touching other persons;
• Avoid touching one’s eyes, nose, and mouth;
• When sneezing and/or coughing, facial tissues must be used to wipe the nose and mouth areas. Dispose of used facial tissues properly; and
• Avoid spitting in public, on floors, and along corridors.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases the room assignments for the November 2023 Philippine Nurse Licensure Exam (PNLE)  a few days before the examination.

This year’s second November 2023 Philippine Nurse Licensure Exam (PNLE)  will be conducted on November 11 & 12, 2023.

Room Assignments

Below are room assignments for the November 2023 Philippine Nurse Licensure Exam (PNLE) :

Examinees shall report before 6:30 in the morning on the said date because latecomers will not be admitted.

Things to Bring Examination day

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

• Notice of Admission
• Official Receipt
• One (1) piece of metered-stamped window mailing envelope
• Two (2) or more pencils (NO. 2)
• Ball pens (black ink only)
• One (1) piece long brown envelope
• One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
• Health Forms (Pursuant to Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)
• Negative RT-PCR Test Results, if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine (Pursuant to Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)

Dress Code on Examination Day

Here are the specified dress codes from PRC:

• For male examinees, tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks
• For female examinees, tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks

Prohibited Items Inside the Exam Rooms:

• Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded information or formulas
• Calculators which are programmable or with embedded functions, especially CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus
• Apple, Samsung and other smart watches, cellular phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, Bluetooth and other electronic devices which may be used for communication purposes;
• Bags of any kind (place your documents inside the transparent/plastic envelope)
• Other examination aides not stated in this program

All personal belongings of the examinees shall be surrendered to the proctor and shall be placed in a secured space within the examination room.

The rules on the conduct of bodily search, an inspection of personal belongings of the examinees, and the seizure/confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57, s. 2020) shall be strictly observed.

PRC Room Assignments for June 2021 Nurses Licensure Exam (NLE)

Manila, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced room assignments for the June 2021 Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE) for testing locations in Manila/ National Capital Region (NCR) and all regional offices nationwide.

Originally, the June 2021 NLE was scheduled on May 30-31, 2021 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its ripple effects, it was rescheduled on July 3-4, 2021 for the first batch and November 21-22, 2021 for the second batch.

The licensure exams for professional nurses will be administered by the Board of Professional Nursing (BON) headed by its Chairman, Glenda S. Arquiza, and its members, Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Gloria B. Arcos, Carfredda P. Dumlao, Florence C. Cawaon, Cora A. Añonuevo and Elizabeth C. Lagrito.

Manila/ NCR

Manila/ ncr- pwd, rosales, pangasinan, cagayan de oro (cdo), lucena-added to the list.

NLE Coverage

Examination attire.

Male examinees are required to wear clinical uniform with white shoes and white socks but without name plate, school insignia/ logo and pin; or school uniform.

For female examinees, clinical uniform with white shoes and white stockings but without name plate, school insignia/ logo and pin; or school uniform. For pregnant examinees, white clinical scrub suit.

What to bring?

Don’t forget the following on examination day:

• Notice of Admission (NOA)
• Official Receipt
• Two (2) or more pencils (No. 1 or No. 2)
• Ball pens with BLACK ink only
• One (1) piece long brown envelope
• One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
• Health forms
• Negative RT-PCR Test Results, if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine

Examinees are not allowed to bring books, notes or similar items in the examination room. Programmable calculators as well as electronic gadgets such as apple and samsung products are not allowed either. Bags of any kind are also not allowed inside the examination premises.

Precautionary Measures

The following precautionary measures shall be observed during the conduct of the PNLE:

• Wearing of face mask and face shield
• Sanitizing using alcohol and hand-based sanitizers whenever necessary
• Physical Distancing of one (1) meter at all times
• Those with fever and cold are not allowed to take the exam
• Observe proper hygiene at all times

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases the list of room assignments for the May 2022 Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE) weeks before before the exams.

The Nursing board exams will be conducted on May 29-30, 2022 at PRC testing centers located at NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

What to wear on examination day?

Here are the specified dress codes from PRC:

• For male examinees, clinical uniform with white shoes and white socks but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin; or school uniform.
• For female examinees, clinical uniform with white shoes and white stockings but without nameplate, school insignia/logo and pin; or school uniform.
• For pregnant female, wear white clinical scrub suit.

What are not allowed during board exams?

• Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded information or formulas
• Programmable Calculators
• Apple, Samsung and other smart watches, cellular phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, Bluetooth and other electronic devices which may be used for communication purposes;
• Bags of any kind

Board exams during the COVID-19 pandemic

The following precautionary health and safety guidelines shall be observed at all times during the conduct of the PRC licensure exams:

• Wearing of face mask and face shield. Examinees are also required to bring alcohol-based sanitizers.
• Examination personnel shall be provided with face mask, face shield and latex gloves.
• Observe physical distancing by maintaining 1-meter distance from one another.
• Body temperature will be checked using thermal scanner prior to entry at examination premises. Those with fever, colds or cough are not allowed to take the exams. Their payment will not be forfeited and can be used in the next licensure exam.
• Examinees are advised to bring their food as they will not be allowed to exit the examination room during break time and lunch time.
• Examinees shall sanitize before entering the examination room, after using the rest room and before distribution of test questionnaires.

PRC added that they will not be responsible of any lost personal belongings.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

Germs are a part of everyday life. Germs live in our air, soil, water and in and on our bodies. Some germs are helpful, others are harmful.

An infection occurs when germs enter the body, increase in number and the body reacts. Only a small portion of germs can cause infection.

Terms to know

• Sources : places where infectious agents (germs) live (e.g., sinks, surfaces, human skin). Sources are also called reservoirs.
• Susceptible person: someone who is not vaccinated or otherwise immune. For example, a person with a weakened immune system who has a way for the germs to enter the body.
• Transmission: a way germs move to the susceptible person. Germs depend on people, the environment and/or medical equipment to move in healthcare settings. Transmission is also called a pathway.
• Colonization: when someone has germs on or in their body but does not have symptoms of an infection. Colonized people can still transmit the germs they carry.

For an infection to occur, germs must transmit to a person from a source, enter their body, invade tissues, multiply and cause a reaction.

How it works in healthcare settings

Sources can be:.

• People such as patients, healthcare workers and visitors.
• Dry surfaces in patient care areas such as bed rails, medical equipment, countertops and tables).
• Wet surfaces, moist environments and biofilms (collections of microorganisms that stick to each other and surfaces in moist environments, like the insides of pipes).
• Cooling towers, faucets and sinks, and equipment such as ventilators.
• Indwelling medical devices such as catheters and IV lines.
• Dust or decaying debris such as construction dust or wet materials from water leaks.

Transmission can happen through activities such as:

• Physical contact, like when a healthcare provider touches medical equipment that has germs on it and then touches a patient before cleaning their hands.
• Sprays and splashes when an infected person coughs or sneezes. This creates droplets containing the germs, and the droplets land on a person's eyes, nose or mouth.
• Inhalation when infected patients cough or talk, or construction zones kick up dirt and dust containing germs, which another person breathes in.
• Sharps injuries such as when someone is accidentally stuck with a used needle.

A person can become more susceptible to infection when:

• They have underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, cancer or organ transplantation. These can decrease the immune system's ability to fight infection.
• They take medications such as antibiotics, steroids and certain cancer fighting medications. These can decrease the body's ability to fight infection.
• They receive treatments or procedures such as urinary catheters, tubes and surgery, which can provide additional ways for germs to enter the body.
