The Bridal Tip

Modern Mirror Wedding Seating Chart

When it comes to planning a wedding, every couple wants to create a memorable and unique experience for their guests. One emerging trend that has been gaining popularity is the use of mirror seating charts. These elegant and modern displays not only help guests find their seats but also add a touch of glamour and sophistication to the overall wedding decor.

Benefits of Using Mirror Seating Charts for Weddings

There are several benefits to incorporating mirror seating charts into your wedding reception:

Firstly, mirror seating charts enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the wedding venue. The reflective surface of the mirror creates a visually striking focal point that captures the attention of guests as they enter the reception area. It adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the space, setting the tone for the rest of the wedding.

Furthermore, mirror seating charts allow for easy updates and modifications. In case of any last-minute changes to the seating arrangements, you can easily wipe off the existing information and update it without any hassle. This flexibility ensures that everything runs smoothly and efficiently during the wedding festivities.

Moreover, mirror seating charts can be personalized to match your wedding decor and theme. Whether you prefer a minimalist design, a rustic touch, or a glamorous look, you can choose a mirror that complements your chosen style. You can also customize the font, layout, and decorative elements to create a seating chart that truly reflects your unique taste and personality.

Choosing the Right Mirror for Your Seating Chart

When it comes to choosing the right mirror for your seating chart, there are a few factors to consider:

Firstly, consider the different types and styles of mirrors available. There are framed mirrors, frameless mirrors, antique mirrors, and even custom-designed mirrors. Think about the overall look and feel you want to achieve and select a mirror that aligns with your vision.

Additionally, think about the size and placement options for your mirror seating chart. Consider the available space at your venue and choose a mirror that fits comfortably without overpowering the area. Whether you decide to place it on an easel, mount it on a wall, or incorporate it into a larger decorative display, make sure it is easily visible to your guests.

Lastly, personalize the mirror to match your wedding decor. You can add additional decorative elements such as flowers, greenery, or fairy lights around the edges of the mirror to enhance its visual appeal and tie it in with the overall wedding theme.

Designing and Creating a Mirror Wedding Seating Chart

When designing and creating your mirror seating chart, there are a few key considerations:

Firstly, select a suitable font and layout for the seating chart. Choose a font that is easy to read and complements the overall aesthetic of your wedding. Experiment with different layouts to find one that is clear, organized, and visually appealing.

You can also consider using calligraphy or vinyl lettering for an elegant touch. These add an extra level of sophistication to the seating chart and create a beautiful contrast against the mirror’s reflective surface.

Incorporating decorative elements and embellishments can also enhance the overall visual impact of your seating chart. Consider adding floral arrangements, greenery, or other personalized touches to create a stunning display that will leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Lastly, don’t forget to include table numbers or names to help guests easily locate their assigned seats. You can add these directly to the mirror or use smaller individual frames or mini-mirrors for a creative and unique touch.

Displaying and Mounting the Mirror Seating Chart

Once your mirror seating chart is ready, it’s important to carefully consider its display and mounting options:

Explore various mounting options such as an easel, frame, or directly mounting it on a wall. Each option creates a different effect and may work better depending on the layout and overall design of your venue. Make sure the mounting choice is secure and stable to avoid accidents during the event.

Consider the visibility and accessibility of the seating chart for your guests. Place the mirror in a prominent location where it can be easily seen and accessed. It’s important that guests can quickly find their assigned tables without causing congestion or confusion.

DIY Tips for Making a Mirror Wedding Seating Chart

If you’re feeling creative and want to take a hands-on approach, you can make your own mirror wedding seating chart. Here are some DIY tips to get you started:

Firstly, gather all the materials and tools you’ll need for the project. You’ll require a mirror of your desired size, vinyl lettering or calligraphy supplies, decorative elements, and mounting materials such as an easel or frame.

There are also budget-friendly alternatives and creative ideas you can explore. For example, instead of buying an expensive framed mirror, you can find vintage mirrors at thrift stores or repurpose an old dresser mirror. You can also get creative with your lettering by using paint markers or stencils.

Remember, the DIY process allows for personalization and adding your own unique touches. Let your creativity shine through as you design and create a mirror seating chart that perfectly matches your wedding vision.

Alternatives to Mirror Seating Charts

If you’re not sold on the idea of a mirror seating chart, there are other unique alternatives you can consider:

One popular alternative is a chalkboard seating chart. Chalkboards provide a vintage and whimsical feel and allow for easy updates and modifications. Another option is a window pane seating chart, which adds a rustic and charming element to your wedding decor.

Additionally, you can explore digital seating chart options. With advancements in technology, digital seating charts can be displayed on screens or projectors, offering a modern and interactive experience for your guests.

Guidelines for Using a Mirror Seating Chart Effectively

To ensure your mirror seating chart is utilized effectively, consider the following guidelines:

Provide clear and easy-to-understand instructions for your guests. Display the table numbers or names prominently and use clear signage or arrows to guide guests to their assigned tables.

Ensure guests can easily locate their assigned tables by organizing and arranging the seating chart information in a logical way. Consider alphabetizing the names or grouping the tables by category (e.g., family, friends, coworkers) to make navigation effortless.

Final Thoughts on Mirror Wedding Seating Charts

A mirror wedding seating chart not only serves a practical purpose but also adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to your wedding decor. It creates a memorable visual focal point and allows for personalization to match your overall wedding theme. Whether you choose to purchase a mirror seating chart or create your own DIY masterpiece, it will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your guests.

In conclusion, mirror seating charts are a modern and stylish choice for any wedding. They enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the venue, create a visual focal point, and add a touch of glamour to the celebration. By carefully selecting the right mirror, designing and creating a personalized seating chart, and displaying it effectively, you can create a memorable experience for your guests. Consider your options, unleash your creativity, and let a mirror seating chart elevate your wedding to new heights of elegance.

30 Wedding Seating Chart Ideas That Will Impress Your Guests

Replace escort cards with a seating assignment display that shows off your personality.

Emily is a former editorial assistant for MarthaStewart.com.

wedding table assignment mirror

While escort cards suit some wedding aesthetics, a single, seamless chart can often be a better fit for your vision (or venue). If you use a single diagram, map, or list to direct guests to their tables, then custom menus or personalized favors placed at each setting can indicate specific seats (you can also allow guests to choose their own spots as they get to know their seatmates).

A seating chart can also add a memorable statement detail to your wedding décor. Your shared hobbies and interests—sports, sailing, and favorite cities—can all provide inspiration, and so can a color palette, mixed materials, or unique textures. See how real couples incorporated glass, copper, wood, fabric, and a variety of other elements into creative wedding seating chart ideas.

Copper Pipe Wedding Seating Chart

A couple who were introduced by a mutual friend beside a school water fountain included a cheeky nod to the location with a seating chart made from copper piping (prettier than any piping we've ever seen inside a wall).

Nautical Wedding Seating Chart

The couple's favorite song and waterfront venue inspired their seating chart, which included guests' names calligraphed onto the sails of small, vintage model sailboats.

Rainbow Wedding Seating Chart

At a "retro beach rainbow"-themed wedding, guests found their seating assignment according to color, not number, on an installation designed by the bride and built by the groomsmen.

Mountain Wedding Seating Chart

After reaching this couple's mountaintop ceremony site by chairlift, the seating chart—which read "The mountains are calling"—was an appropriate touch.

Etched Glass Wedding Seating Chart

This double-layered seating chart, which included a frosted panel in front of the etched panel for depth, was decorated with trailing greenery.

Textile-Inspired Wedding Seating Chart

Small blue leather triangles, each etched with a guests' name and table number, were arranged to mimic the layout of a classic Pendleton blanket at this Nebraska wedding .

Black Wedding Seating Chart

This couple used three different tents for their cocktail hour, reception, and after-party, purposefully incorporating every color of the rainbow into the layout. A sleek black seating chart let the florals and lighting shine.

Full-Length Mirror Wedding Seating Chart

Ornate full-length mirrors surrounded by lush florals—and calligraphed with the guests' table assignments—were an opulent accent to the rustic exposed brick and gravel pathways at this venue.

Potted Plant Wedding Seating Chart

A backyard wedding may not offer space for an expansive escort card display, but a shelf of potted plants—with each pot displaying the guests assigned to a different table—looks right at home.

Glass Jug Wedding Seating Chart

Rich wood tones, seaglass-inspired jugs, bright fruit, and casual handwriting lent a vacation vibe to this beachfront wedding.

Blue Floral Wedding Seating Chart

These brides kept their seating chart simple and chic with a bold blue shade, which they repeated throughout the decor, a line-drawn floral element, and contrasting white text.

Golden Gate Bridge Wedding Seating Chart

At a venue surrounded by views of the Golden Gate Bridge , the iconic structure inspired many of the day's illustrations—including the seating chart, where acrylic panels with guests' names sat atop a custom image.

Handmade Wedding Seating Chart

The bride's father crafted this handmade seating chart from wood salvaged from his North Carolina farm.

National Park Wedding Seating Chart

Tables at this wedding were named for the couple's favorite national parks, and guests' names were calligraphed in copper on dark leather by Jessica Lee Calligraphy .

Greenery Wedding Seating Chart

This simple seating chart gets an extra dose of elegance thanks to the surrounding boxwood greenery.

Rustic Arrangements Wedding Seating Chart

This wood and lettering seating chart at this couple's rustic, outdoor wedding reception was decorated with lanterns and floral accents.

Mirror Display Wedding Seating Chart

This display—which was inspired by Snow White —featured gold-rimmed mirrors stuck in a wall of greenery and blooms.

Scroll Wedding Seating Chart

Inspired by a classic, regal scroll (with paper swapped for fabric), this seating chart was comprised of a rich velvet base and held gold assignments calligraphed by Perfect Fête Designs .

Lucite Wedding Seating Chart

Four elegant Lucite slabs lit by votive candles displayed the seating arrangements at this reception.

Illustrated Wedding Seating Chart

Hand-watercolored artwork by Emily Baker Studio topped seating-assignment cards with illustrations related to the wedding's venue and the groom's heritage.

Record Wedding Seating Chart

LB Events owner Hallie Slate fulfilled a bride's request for a music-inspired seating chart by using spray-painted, vintage records. The bride's sister (Kenzie of Details, Darling ) then calligraphed each with the guests' names.

Transparent Wedding Seating Chart

Martha's niece used this floating display for her wedding. The chart itself was made from Plexiglas and was held from barn rafters using barely-there fishing wire.

Window Wedding Seating Chart

A father of a bridesmaid made this seating chart by placing a piece of glass in a window frame, while the bridesmaid added the details using a white paint marker.

Sporty Wedding Seating Chart

This tennis-loving couple turned their seating chart into sports brackets. The fun display was printed on navy vinyl.

Album Wedding Seating Chart

Album sleeves from some of the couple's favorite bands made this casual seating chart pop. Guests could hear the albums, too, since they were played throughout cocktail hour and dinner.

Milled Wood Wedding Seating Chart

This calligraphed cut of locally-milled wood served as an eye-catching seating chart (and decoration, too).

Citrus Wedding Seating Chart

This white structure—complete with greenery and lemons—made a statement in this outdoor space.

Easel Wedding Seating Chart

Grit & Grace made this formal blue-and-white seating chart, which was supported by a clear easel. "Having the seating chart was a last-minute decision," said the celebration's bride, but "it turned out to be a really cool addition to the wedding."

Simple Wedding Seating Chart

This wooden seating chart features tables named after Hawaiian islands (perfect for the couple's island celebration) and a welcoming pineapple illustration.

Chic Wedding Seating Chart

The bride designed this seating chart by borrowing elements from her invitation suite.

23 Creative Wedding Seating Chart Ideas That Will Stop Guests in Their Tracks

Guide guests to their seats in serious style.

Sure, mapping out your wedding seating chart may seem like a tough task at first glance but it doesn't have to be that way. Once you start thinking outside the box (ahem, this is where Pinterest comes in), guiding your guests to their seats can actually be tons of fun. If you've ever attended a wedding reception before, then you know how difficult it can be locating your seat—or maybe that's just us? Eliminate the confusion altogether by creating a seating chart that's functional and easy on the eyes. When done correctly, your seating chart will seamlessly be integrated into the wedding décor.

There are countless ways to create a reception seating sign that will stop wedding-goers in their tracks. If your wedding style leans towards boho or ethereal, fabric flag signs are the perfect accoutrement to a charming barn venue. If your wedding theme is more rustic, try penning your wedding seating chart in classic calligraphy on a blackboard. Meanwhile, the romantically inclined will want to take note of the wedding seating chart ideas featuring lucite and mirrors with pretty white lettering for their reception space .

Ahead, we're sharing 23 of our favorite creative wedding seating chart ideas from real weddings that will serve as major conversation starters at the dinner table.

26+ Seating Chart Ideas for Your Wedding

Get creative and have fun with your seating chart as it adds a special touch to your wedding decor and guest experience.

By MINTED , Last Updated: February 01, 2024 6 minute read

Escort cards are a traditional way to direct guests to their assigned dinner table. The individual cards are printed with each guest’s name and table number, and the cards are typically arranged neatly on a table near the reception entrance.

But if escort cards aren’t quite in line with your wedding vision, then a single wedding seating chart might better suit your style. Make sure to check out our guide on how to create your seating chart .

If you prefer something more straightforward, opt for a large seating chart sign that lists guests’ names in alphabetical order, along with their table number assignment. Up for a DIY project? Keep reading for unique seating chart ideas.

26 CREATIVE WEDDING SEATING CHART IDEAS

Consider the overall wedding theme and style when choosing a unique seating chart idea. Get creative and have fun with it, as it adds a special touch to your wedding decor and guest experience.

While most of our display ideas won’t have a huge impact on your venue, consider asking about ideal wedding seating chart placement when you tour the space .

1. Seating Chart Sign

Display an elegant wedding seating chart sign at cocktail hour so guests can peruse and locate their dinner table while enjoying a beverage. Be sure to display the sign at the eye level. You’ll also want to position it in a spot where guests can easily gather around without hindering traffic flow. Minted’s new seating chart signs come in two different large-format sizes (16" x 20" and 18" x 24") and guests’ names can be arranged by table number (as shown) or in alphabetical order, whichever makes the most sense for your guest list.

We love this oversize take on an elegant paper scroll. Guests’ names and assigned table numbers were calligraphed onto a large roll of paper. The scroll was draped over a stone wall along the path to the reception, then anchored with candlelit lanterns and fresh greenery.

Such a creative way to guide guests to their seats: Print a photo of each guest (grab a good one from their Instagram or Facebook page), along with their name and table number. Affix them to a freestanding display for everyone to browse during cocktail hour. This is also a great way to help guests mingle and get to know each other—it will certainly help put faces to names.

15. Shot Glass Seating Display

Your guests will enjoy this interactive seating display idea. This couple filled Himalayan sea salt shot glasses, which were calligraphed with each guest’s name, with tequila and topped them with a slice of lime that also noted their table number. We’ll drink to that!

16. Framed Rustic Seating Chart

If you’re planning a rustic wedding , this wood-framed seating display is the perfect complement (and won’t be very hard to DIY!). Print out table assignments and attach them to chicken wire with mini clothespins. Embellish the corners of the frame with greenery and flowers , then place the seating chart display in a prominent place at cocktail hour so guests can locate their seat.

17. Vintage Typewriter Seating Chart

Nothing says "vintage wedding" quite like a seating chart typed out on an old-fashioned typewriter. If possible, source an old typewriter in a color that complements your wedding palette, or display a vase of blooms next to it to tie the overall look together. If your wedding is large and all the names won’t fit on a single page, frame the other typed-out seating-chart pages and place them next to the typewriter to keep the traffic flow smooth.

18. Pine Cone Seating Display

Planning a winter wedding ? Add some creative wintry touches to your celebration as a nod to the season. For example, collect pine cones on your winter walks and use them to create a festive seating card display. You could use the pine cones as card holders and prop the cards on top, or simply arrange the cards alongside the cones on a wood table. You may also draw inspiration from our Christmas flowers and greenery guide .

19. Seed Packet Seating Chart Idea

If you’re tying the knot during the spring , include wildflower seed packets with each person’s table assignment. The seed packets can double as a wedding favor and guests can plant the seeds at home and, once the flowers bloom, think back fondly on your wedding.

20. Fresh Fruit Seating Display

When it comes to wedding seating chart ideas, this ranks among the most unique! For a fresh take on a seating chart, use in-season fruit to display guests’ escort cards. Think oranges and lemons for a winter or springtime wedding and peaches or a basket of cherries for a summer celebration. And, if you are hosting a tropical destination wedding , pineapples and mangos work perfectly!

21. Glass Cloche Seating Chart Idea

If your wedding is going to be small and intimate ( think micro wedding ) then you have more leeway to be especially creative with your seating chart display. This couple had glass cloches calligraphed with guests’ seat assignments. Beneath each dome was an arrangement of fresh blooms.

22. Surfboard Seating Chart

Having a beach wedding ? Play up the ocean theme with seating chart wedding ideas like a surfboard lettered with guest names and table numbers. Not only will this clever idea bring smiles to everyone’s faces (and probably become the selfie station for the night), but you can use the surfboard time and time again for future beach trips. Every time you catch a wave you will be reminded of your wedding day.

23. Propped Suitcase for a Destination Wedding Seating Chart

If your guests have traveled far and wide for your destination wedding, greet them with a travel-themed seating display. Line a vintage suitcase with rows of folded escort cards in alphabetical order. You could even DIY them to resemble old-fashioned letters with "Par avion" printed on the outside. Guests can be instructed to open a miniature letter to reveal their seating assignment inside.

24. Wine Bottle Vase Display

For couples hosting a vineyard wedding, chances are you’ve come across many creative winery-themed wedding seating chart ideas. This is one of our favorites because it checks all the boxes: it’s on-theme, elegant, and easy to execute. Collect empty wine bottles and create adhesive labels that list the table number and all the guests assigned to that table. Then, have your florist fill the vases with seasonal blooms to match your wedding color palette. Because this idea is rather easy to execute, it works perfectly for a backyard wedding as well.

25. Fortune Cookie Escort-Card Wall

What a clever (and delicious) wedding reception seating chart idea! This couple affixed fortune cookies to a display board along with a banner that said, "So fortunate for you all." Guests were invited to find their fortune cookie. Once located, they cracked the cookie open to reveal their seating assignment inside.

26. Christmas Ornament Wedding Seating Concept

If you’re tying the knot around the winter holidays , we love this elegant nod to the season. Turn Christmas tree ornaments into escort card holders. Achieve a uniform look and use all the same ornaments, or mix up the presentation with an assortment of ornaments. You can even invite guests to take home the item to hang on their mantel or tree.

WEDDING SEATING CHART ETIQUETTE AND FAQs

We’ve got the answers to all of your burning questions on wedding seating chart etiquette.

Do I have to do a seating chart?

Assigned seating at the reception is not mandatory, but most couples do create a seating chart because they make things simpler. For example, for a plated dinner service, things could get confusing for the catering staff without assigned seating. Plus, some guests may feel a bit uneasy walking into a large reception and having to scan the room for an open spot to sit. A happy medium would be to assign each guest to a dinner table, but let them choose their own seats.

How do I make a seating chart?

Check out our comprehensive guide to creating a seating chart and wedding seating chart etiquette . But in a nutshell, keep the floor plan of your venue in mind as you’re working on your seating chart. Seat yourselves, first; then give your VIPs (parents, grandparents, wedding party members) the best seats in the house. For the remaining guests, try to find some commonalities between groups and seat them together. And, of course, be tactful: Definitely avoid seating people together who might have a history they wish they could forget.

Photo: Charlotte Jenks Lewis Photography

Photo: Charlotte Jenks Lewis Photography

What are the pros and cons to having table assignments vs. seat assignments?

Assigning guests to specific seats at the dinner table makes it easier for the catering staff to deliver guests their selected meals.

Assigning tables (but not specific seats) is less work for you and your partner, and you won’t need place cards. Plus, guests will have some choice as to who they would like to sit next to.

What’s a fun alternative to numbered tables?

Table numbers are the most straightforward option, of course, but you can inject some personality into your reception by naming each table after something meaningful to you and your relationship. Here are a few of our favorite table-name ideas:

  • Names of streets you’ve lived on (from childhood, homes you’ve lived in together, etc.)
  • Countries or cities you’ve visited together
  • Song titles that are special to you
  • Favorite childhood books
  • Sports teams
  • Meaningful landmarks
  • Places you’ve gone to on dates
  • Favorite authors or books
  • Astrological signs
  • Constellations
  • Wine varietals

Why Copper Mugs?

As anyone who’s sipped a Moscow Mule can attest, these lime- ginger beer–vodka concoctions are at their peak when served ice cold. And even better in a copper mug. Not only does this metal keep the drinks chilly, it also helps maintain the delicious fizziness of the ginger beer.

Change it up with gin, tequila, bourbon, or whatever spirit moves you…a copper mug can deliver a mule to suit everyone. ( Check out our recipes! )

A Gift That Will Last

We know that favors for weddings should be as individual as the brides and grooms who are celebrating. And if there’s one thing we’ve all learned, it’s that the favors guests like best are the ones they will actually use. Especially these days with our concerns about waste, no one wants another plastic trinket to stuff in a drawer.

Your satisfaction is our priority

So, what favor is worthy of your wedding.

Some brides and grooms go in the food + drink direction with edible favors like chocolate or candy, a snack or seasoning that defines the local area or plays up the wedding theme, or even mini-bottles of spirits for guests to enjoy later on. Others inject excitement with lottery tickets or aim to extend the “life” of their big day with herbs, succulents, or other mini plants for guests to take home and nurture. Meaningful keepsakes like a personalized candle or coasters are nice, too. But they’ve been done. And done again. Many of us have a collection already. We offer something better. A favor that’s unique yet functional, so your guests can use them regularly for years to come.

1. SILVERLONN curtains as table runners and a TON of other things

We're in the thick of wedding season and if you're like me and somehow always on the decorations committee when your friends and family members get married, then here's a hack: Grab decorations that can be used long after one event is over. They should be things that serve as everyday home decor or work for the next soiree on the calendar.  One of the best places to score those kinds of finds on a budget and  in the quantities needed for an event is IKEA . The beloved retailer has plenty of home goods that double as wedding decor.

Check out these budget-friendly home finds that wedding planners, brides , and yes, mothers of the brides are grabbing to make the big day as beautiful as possible. Bookmark this for your wedding decor needs OR send to someone you know has one on their calendar this year.

DIY Copper Mug Favors for Weddings

wedding table assignment mirror

Copper mug favors are beautiful (and functional) for guests! Find out how you can make these Moscow mule mug favors for your wedding. P.S. You’re on the list , right? ;)

Hi, loves! Emma here. We spotted the most beautiful copper mug favors at this Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park wedding and were eager to replicate it ourselves. Copper mugs make excellent wedding favors for guests. And while a copper mug looks cool, that’s not the only reason why people love to drink out of them.

As a matter of fact, the mug is named after the drink commonly served in them: The Moscow Mule. It is made of ginger beer, lime, and vodka ( get a recipe here ). I haven’t tried one myself (yet!), but apparently, a Moscow Mule is served in a copper mug because the cold metal enhances its taste. The cold copper also increases the amount of the bubbles in the carbonated ginger beer, so you get more fizziness in a copper mug than in a regular glass or plastic container. So, now that you know why people are crazy about these copper mugs, it’s time to talk about how to make your own copper mug favors for guests to take home. Find out more below on how to make these copper mugs more affordable, see a cute mini version, and get a FREE printable sign to use at your wedding! Enjoy!

It’s easy to make copper mug favors. All you need are: copper mugs, thank you tags, and twine. Now, if you’re like me and think these look amazing but you can’t fathom how to afford one for every guest, here are some ways to save money and make this a more affordable wedding favor. I’ve given this a lot of thought and I think I’ve come up with the perfect solution.

How to Make Them More Affordable

How do you make a wedding favor like this more affordable? That’s simple: just choose something which can fill many purposeful roles. For instance, your copper mugs can serve many purposes. These copper mug favors can be your 1) wedding favors, 2) escort cards , and 3) glassware — all in one. All you need to do is write each guest’s seating assignment on one side of the tag and “Thank You” on the opposite side of the tag. Place the copper mugs in a beautiful display with a thank you sign so guests know they may take one home.

You may wish to include a sign that tells guests to “Find Your Seat”, so they know to look for their name, too.

Find Your Seat sign for your wedding reception by Mulberry Market Design

After finding their mug, guests are encouraged to bring it to the bar on their way to their seat to fill it up with a Moscow Mule , your signature wedding cocktail. Or anything else: water, lemonade, beer, soda, cider, etc.

wedding table assignment mirror

In this way, you’re able to enjoy some cost savings from not having to create additional escort cards or a seating chart . You won’t need to worry about favors and glassware is totally taken care of.

Plus, guests go home with a copper mug they can enjoy for years to come. That’s money well spent, I say, versus other favors that are often thrown out not long after the wedding day.

Ready to get started? All you need are the following supplies:

Copper Mug Favors

  • Copper Mugs / Moscow Mule mugs : quantity dependent on your wedding guest list

wedding table assignment mirror

  • kraft paper tags
  • fine point permanent marker

All you need to do is hand-write each guest’s name on one side of the tag with his or her table number underneath. On the opposite side, write “Thank You”. Use twine to attach the tag to the handle of the copper mug. Place the mugs on a central table for guests to grab as they enter the reception space. A directional sign to the bar or a signature cocktail sign with Moscow Mule as your choice will encourage them to bring their mug to fill at the bar. That’s it! The permanent marker mentioned is one that won’t bleed through, so you can take full use of both sides of the tag. It also dries quickly, so you can write them all quickly.

Don’t Forget

On the table where the copper mugs are displayed, make sure they’re in alphabetical order according to each guest’s last name. You’ll also want to include a simple “Thank You” sign so guests know they can take one home as the favor. We’ve created this simple FREE printable you can use. It is easy to print and fits nicely in a 5×7″ frame to display on any table.

Mini Copper Mug Favors

If you want to save EVEN MORE money, we found these mini copper mugs which are essentially shot glass size. They will cost about half as much. You can get the stunning copper look at half the cost — but also half the size. You won’t be able to serve Moscow Mules in them, but if you’re just going for the look (and need to save some moolah), this is a great way to do it!

How exciting to come across this article today featuring my calligraphy work for this amazing wedding. Thank you!

' src=

We are doing this too but need a little advice- we are having a sit down meal with menu choices. This will get them to their table but how do we indicate their meal choice too? We want to assign tables but not seats so we don’t want to do placecards. We were thinking something at the table that they can grab and put at their actual seat with their meal choice but don’t know what….any advice?

' src=

I don’t know if this is too late, but what about using colored baker’s twine for the tags? The color could indicate which meal option your guests have chosen. At my cousin’s wedding they color-coded drink umbrellas for a Hawaiian theme.

Hands up if you’re ready to be dazzled! From a ceremony structure designed to float on water to a jaw-dropping reception room with flowers blooming from every service, we’re swooning over every bit of this wedding. If you can believe it, that’s just the beginning. Julia Kaptelova artfully shot every detail, like the ballet performance guests were treated to and snow falling from the ceiling for the first dance! Prepare to be amazed and take a visit to the full gallery .

From About You Decor … Our design is a symbol of dawn and a distant endless horizon. Ahead is a long, happy life without any borders. An international couple, Pavel and Cherry, met in London and have been walking together for many years.

From the Bride, Cherry… My husband and I we decided to have our summer wedding in Moscow because the city is where his roots are. As we knew we were going to have the other wedding ceremony in China, we wanted our Moscow one to be very personal and intimate. We’ve known each other since we were fourteen, together with many of our friends whom we’ve also known for a decade.

I didn’t want to walk down the aisle twice so the plausibility of my request quickly came into discussion. The open pontoon stage was constructed in order to facilitate the bridal entrance on water, although there were concerns about safety as the last thing we wanted was probably a drowned bride before she could get on stage, picture that! I have to say on that day it wasn’t easy to get on the pontoon stage from the boat, in my long gown and high heels. Luckily my bridesmaids still noticed even though they stood the furthest from me on the stage, and helped me out without prior rehearsal. My girls could just tell whenever I needed a hand or maybe they were just so used to my clumsiness. Who knows 😂

We all love our photographer Julia! She’s so talented and her style is so unique. Our beloved host Alex is exceptional who made everyone laugh and cry. It was truly a blessing to have so many kind and beautiful souls on our big day. Thank you all!

I’m still not convinced this Moscow wedding, captured to perfection by  Sonya Khegay , isn’t actually an inspiration session—it’s just  that breathtaking. From the beautiful Bride’s gorgeous lace wedding dress and flawless hair and makeup to the pretty pastel color palette and stunning ceremony and reception spaces, this wedding is almost too good to be true. Do yourself a favor and see it all in The Vault now!

From Sonya Khegay … It was the last day of April and still very cold in the morning. The weather forecast wasn’t pleasing and no one expected that the sun would come out, but miracles happen and light rain gave way to the warm rays.

I love how all the details went together, you could feel the harmony in everything throughout the entire wedding day from the morning until the fireworks.

A gentle look of the bride, elegant but so airy and unique decor, the fresh and light atmosphere of early spring and, of course, true happiness in the eyes. My heart becomes so warm from these memories, it is always a pleasure to see the birth of a new family of two loving hearts.

You really can’t go wrong with simple: a beautiful Bride , perfectly pretty petals , loved ones all around. But add in an amazing firework show  to cap off the night and simple just became downright extraordinary. Captured by Lena Elisseva , with assistance by  Katya Butenko , this rustic Russian celebration is simply fantastic. See it all in the Vault right here !

From Lena Eliseeva Photo …  This cozy and warm summer wedding of gorgeous Natalia and Anton was in the middle of June. The young couple decided to organize their wedding themselves, and the day was very personal and touching. I am absolutely in love with rustic outdoor weddings, and this one is my favourite because of the free and easy atmosphere.

All the decor excluding the bride’s bouquet was made by a team of ten friends of the bride and groom. And it was charming – a light and beautiful arch, eco-style polygraphy and succulents, candy-bar with caramel apples and berries – sweet joys of summer.

At the end of ceremony the guests tossed up white handkerchiefs embroidered by Natalia’s own hands.

The most touching moment was the happy eyes of the groom’s grandmother, the most estimable person on the wedding. And the fireworks were a bright end to that beautiful day.

These photos from Lena Kozhina are so stunningly beautiful – as in you can’t help but stop and stare – it’s hard to believe it’s real life. But these pics are proof of this gorgeous Bride and her handsome Groom’s celebration at Moscow’s Fox Lodge , surrounded by vibrant colors and breathtaking blooms . Oh, and the idea of prepping for your Big Day outside in the sun ? Brilliant. See more bright ideas right here !

From Lena Kozhina … When we met with the couple for the first time, we immediately paid attention to Dima’s behavior towards Julia. There was a feeling of tenderness and awe, and we immediately wanted to recreate this atmosphere of love, care and warmth on their Big Day.

Later, when we had chosen a green meadow and an uncovered pavilion overlooking a lake as the project site, it only highlighted a light summer mood with colorful florals and a great number of natural woods. The name of the site is Fox Lodge and peach-orange color, as one of the Bride’s favorites, set the tone for the whole design – from the invitations, in which we used images of fox cubs to elements of serving guest tables and other decorative elements with the corresponding bright accents.
