Graduate unemployment and its management are challenges that leaders of the economy, managers and policy analysts grapple with on a daily basis. As a result, economic leaders and managers of economies have sought theoretical explanations to guide their management strategies of graduate unemployment. There are two competing theses to explain the problem: skills mismatch and skills oversupply. However, due to the seeming simplicity of basic tenets and policy implications of the skills mismatch thesis, many governments and laypersons have blamed graduate unemployment on it. This paper argues that policy solutions based entirely on skills mismatch may trigger another form of unemployment, oversupply of skilled graduates. Furthermore, oversupply of graduates is more likely to be the significant cause of graduate unemployment than skills mismatch. An effective policy, therefore, is one that takes into account interventions to stimulate demand for labor while at the same time manages the s...

Abstract The paper reflects on the findings from a firm survey conducted among twenty of South Africa, s largest firms across a range of sectors. The survey formed part of research conducted by the Development Policy Research Unit on graduate unemployment in South Africa. The firm interviews traversed a range of issues relating, for example, to the schooling and higher education system, the learnership programme and National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS) and the nature of skills shortages and the skills deficit.

Skills mismatch is a generic term that refers to various types of imbalances of skills and competencies offered and those needed in the labour market. The concept has become one intensely discussed and subjected to measurements in research amid international concerns about its human resource under-utilization. The article aims to analyse under-employment of economic studies graduates. This is achieved by analysing the results of a professional path survey, with bachelor graduates of Faculty of Economics, University of Oradea, conducted at the end of 2015. Our main research question was: which are the predictors of the over-qualification of University of Oradea. Faculty of Economic Sciences graduates. The analyses show that under-employment of our graduates is not explained by any demographic variables, but solely by employment outside the domain and specialization of education, as well as by number of jobs previously held by respondents.

This paper attempts to explore the topic of the unemployment crisis among fresh graduates. The two main objectives of the study are to examine the influence factors of the unemployment crisis among fresh graduates in Malaysia, and the primary determinant of the unemployment has culminated in many policy implications for higher education. The unemployment rate among fresh graduates increased to 25% in 2020 than the year before, jumping from 13.8%. The null hypothesis is that employer preference, candidate attributes, and economic instability have no significant effect on the unemployment crisis. The information for the paper typically originates from a

The graduate unemployment rate is one of the current issues being discussed by higher education scholars. College students spend their time and money in order to receive educational advantages unavailable to high school graduates. So if they face unemployment, they are more vulnerable to unfavorable economic conditions because they have already spent their resources pursuing higher education. This paper examines the reasons why college graduates are facing unemployment in the competitive market. There are several factors that explain their unemployment status, and this paper identifies each component at an individual level. With specific analysis of the unemployment phenomena, this paper provides direction for further research.

Unemployed educated individuals go through maximum stress and humiliation because of the responsibilities and the expectations. The outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic has added to their woes. This qualitative research has analyzed the current situation of the educated unemployed in India. Data collection through open-ended questionnaire and recording their responses and also, through existing researches and the data related to it has been analyzed to understand the challenges. It was found that innovative technologies, global alignment, informed decision making and increasing funding of education sector by the government are some of the remedies that are required to be implemented immediately to overcome the challenges.

Firstly, graduation marks the end of one era and the beginning of a new one." (Lemire, S. 2023). As for Graduates of the People"s Republic of China, the new means a future employment struggle. As this is one of the most discussed topics in Asia, this comprehensive research study investigates the trials and tribulations involved in the pursuit of work for graduating students in one of the most competitive job markets in the world. Secondly, unearthed within this body of work, the team of researchers discovered that a bachelor"s degree is insufficient to obtain a first company position. Many company recruiters in 2023 now seek postgraduate students instead, due to the intense competition of the recently graduated pool of alumni to apply for first-tier office-oriented positions. Thirdly, an additional factor to this burdensome or arduous out look, is to find gainful employment. i.e., These graduates have requested higher salaries in the major cities to be proportional to the rising standard of living costs, as recruiters usually offer a standardized low erwage for newcomers at job fairs. Finally, the resulting psychological effects and ramifications for the new generation in China, have both been delineated and discussed in this paper.
