Thesis Topics
You are invited to pursue any topic that falls under the English department’s purview, and the Honors Committee will assume that you will pursue it with scholarly rigor, intellectual seriousness, and artistic integrity. You should follow your own interests and commitments in defining your project, though you should avail yourself of the advice of those faculty members whose expertise will help you focus your ideas and give them depth. Again, we welcome critical, creative, interdisciplinary, mixed genre, and hybrid creative/critical projects. Most successful applicants have derived their projects from interests developed during their time as English majors at Georgetown. During the actual writing of the thesis, of course, you will work closely with a faculty mentor.
Here is a partial list of the kinds of literary and interdisciplinary topics that Honors students have pursued over the past few years:
- Polyphony in the novels of Cormac McCarthy
- Women in post-Stonewall gay male literature
- Madness and skepticism in Hamlet and Don Quixote
- Dialogism in Toni Morrison and Christa Woolf
- The Booker Prize as post-colonial phenomenon
- Jazz in the Harlem Renaissance

- Sound and structure in scripts

- The role of bible-making in the works of Blake, Wordsworth, and Hardy
- Morality plays in the Middle Ages and the twentieth century
In addition, Honors students have written short story collections, memoirs, and collections of poetry. Students have also written hybrid creative/critical projects, such as a critique of postcolonial memoir within a postcolonial memoir. Those students who propose creative projects should have developed their skills through taking courses with the Georgetown English Department creative writing faculty or through participation in campus and professional journals and other creative venues.

Thesis Title: Examples and Suggestions from a PhD Grad
When you’re faced with writing up a thesis, choosing a title can often fall to the bottom of the priority list. After all, it’s only a few words. How hard can it be?!
In the grand scheme of things I agree that picking your thesis title shouldn’t warrant that much thought, however my own choice is one of the few regrets I have from my PhD . I therefore think there is value in spending some time considering the options available.
In this post I’ll guide you through how to write your own thesis title and share real-world examples. Although my focus is on the PhD thesis, I’ve also included plenty of thesis title examples for bachelor’s and master’s research projects too.
Hopefully by the end of the post you’ll feel ready to start crafting your own!
Why your thesis title is at least somewhat important
It sounds obvious but your thesis title is the first, and often only, interaction people will have with your thesis. For instance, hiring managers for jobs that you may wish to apply for in the future. Therefore you want to give a good sense of what your research involved from the title.
Many people will list the title of their thesis on their CV, at least for a while after graduating. All of the example titles I’ve shared below came from my repository of academic CVs . I’d say roughly 30% of all the academics on that page list their thesis title, which includes academics all the way up to full professor.
Your thesis title could therefore feature on your CV for your whole career, so it is probably worth a bit of thought!
My suggestions for choosing a good thesis title
- Make it descriptive of the research so it’s immediately obvious what it is about! Most universities will publish student theses online ( here’s mine! ) and they’re indexed so can be found via Google Scholar etc. Therefore give your thesis a descriptive title so that interested researchers can find it in the future.
- Don’t get lost in the detail . You want a descriptive title but avoid overly lengthy descriptions of experiments. Unless a certain analytical technique etc was central to your research, I’d suggest by default* to avoid having it in your title. Including certain techniques will make your title, and therefore research, look overly dated, which isn’t ideal for potential job applications after you graduate.
- The title should tie together the chapters of your thesis. A well-phrased title can do a good job of summarising the overall story of your thesis. Think about each of your research chapters and ensure that the title makes sense for each of them.
- Be strategic . Certain parts of your work you want to emphasise? Consider making them more prominent in your title. For instance, if you know you want to pivot to a slightly different research area or career path after your PhD, there may be alternative phrasings which describe your work just as well but could be better understood by those in the field you’re moving into. I utilised this a bit in my own title which we’ll come onto shortly.
- Do your own thing. Having just laid out some suggestions, do make sure you’re personally happy with the title. You get a lot of freedom to choose your title, so use it however you fancy. For example, I’ve known people to use puns in their title, so if that’s what you’re into don’t feel overly constrained.
*This doesn’t always hold true and certainly don’t take my advice if 1) listing something in your title could be a strategic move 2) you love the technique so much that you’re desperate to include it!

Why I regret my own choice of PhD thesis title
I should say from the outset that I assembled my thesis in quite a short space of time compared to most people. So I didn’t really spend particularly long on any one section, including the title.
However, my main supervisor even spelled out for me that once the title was submitted to the university it would be permanent. In other words: think wisely about your title.
What I started with
Initially I drafted the title as something like: Three dimensional correlative imaging for cartilage regeneration . Which I thought was nice, catchy and descriptive.
I decided to go for “correlative imaging” because, not only did it describe the experiments well, but it also sounded kind of technical and fitting of a potential pivot into AI. I’m pleased with that bit of the title.
What I ended up with
Before submitting the title to the university (required ahead of the viva), I asked my supervisors for their thoughts.
One of my well intentioned supervisors suggested that, given that my project didn’t involve verifying regenerative quality, I probably shouldn’t state cartilage regeneration . Instead, they suggested, I should state what I was experimenting on (the materials) rather than the overall goal of the research (aid cartilage regeneration efforts).
With this advice I dialled back my choice of wording and the thesis title I went with was:
Three dimensional correlative imaging for measurement of strain in cartilage and cartilage replacement materials
Reading it back now I’m reminder about how less I like it than my initial idea!
I put up basically no resistance to the supervisor’s choice, even though the title sounds so much more boring in my opinion. I just didn’t think much of it at the time. Furthermore, most of my PhD was actually in a technique which is four dimensional (looking at a series of 3D scans over time, hence 4D) which would have sounded way more sciency and fitting of a PhD.
What I wish I’d gone with
If I had the choice again, I’d have gone with:
Four-dimensional correlative imaging for cartilage regeneration
Which, would you believe it, is exactly what it states on my CV…
Does the thesis title really matter?
In all honesty, your choice of thesis title isn’t that important. If you come to regret it, as I do, it’s not the end of the world. There are much more important things in life to worry about.
If you decide at a later stage that you don’t like it you can always describe it in a way that you prefer. For instance, in my CV I describe my PhD as I’d have liked the title to be. I make no claim that it’s actually the title so consider it a bit of creative license.
Given that as your career progresses you may not even refer back to your thesis much, it’s really not worth stressing over. However, if you’re yet to finalise your thesis title I do still think it is worth a bit of thought and hopefully this article has provided some insights into how to choose a good thesis title.
My advice for developing a thesis title
- Draft the title early. Drafting it early can help give clarity for the overall message of your research. For instance, while you’re assembling the rest of your thesis you can check that the title encompasses the research chapters you’re included, and likewise that the research experiments you’re including fall within what the title describes. Drafting it early also gives more time you to think it over. As with everything: having a first draft is really important to iterate on.
- Look at some example titles . Such as those featured above!
- If you’re not sure about your title, ask a few other people what they think . But remember that you have the final say!
I hope this post has been useful for those of you are finalising your thesis and need to decide on a thesis title. If you’ve enjoyed this article and would like to hear about future content (and gain access to my free resource library!) you can subscribe for free here:

50 Dissertation Topic Ideas in English Literature
Young people who strive to obtain a master's degree face a need to write a dissertation in their chosen major. It's considered the most important paper they need to deliver during their academic career. Besides, it represents a wonderful chance to demonstrate advanced writing and analytical skills, critical thinking, and knowledge they've gained during the curriculum. Furthermore, such an assignment provides an opportunity to affect an academic environment positively and pamper your ego a bit. So, if you want to graduate with an outstanding result, you should do your best to deliver a high-grade-worthy paper. Your way to success will start with examining potentially suitable dissertation topic ideas, so it is not worth underestimating its importance. Therefore, we'll go deep down this question to make sure you have something to think about when it comes to working on your paper..
How to Work on Research Topics in English Literature
The very name of its assignment suggests that you will not do without proper research, so you should make enough room in your schedule for this stage. You will have to present a report about your findings and discuss the results provided. Bear in mind that writing a dissertation involves a completely different level of responsibility, diligence, and work than similar assignments you got in the past. It stands out from other academic papers with its complexity since it requires more reading, studying, and writing as well.
If you are new to this type of work, it is worth searching for guidelines on the internet, examining decent ready-made papers, and doing background research to understand what theme is more suitable for you. Allocate enough time to look through all thesis topics in English literature that seem appealing to you. It is a complex and multifaceted field of study, so you will hardly do everything properly if you proceed to write when the deadline is already around the corner. The best thing you can do is to choose a theme from your current field of interest. Thus, you will have enough motivation and inspiration to stay on track with research and writing. Pay attention to the following moments:
- Your dissertation should be based on high-quality research, so you can show your understanding of the subject you work on.
- You should demonstrate your analytical skills, choosing only relevant literature on your theme.
- You should develop a research question and address it in your paper, ensuring your dissertation possesses a clear focus.
Research Proposal Ideas
You will have to write a dissertation proposal and present it to your professor or committee to ensure it is suitable and up to date. Don't postpone this task for too long since time is your biggest enemy when it comes to working on such an assignment. Your research process will spin around literary texts, so you will hardly do without visiting a library. A note-taking process is crucial for developing decent ideas and the research process itself. If you don't know what categories it would be interesting to try, pay attention to the following options:
- cultural diversity;
- translated texts;
- genre studies;
- historical development;
- cinematography and literature.
How to Choose a Dissertation Topic in English Literature
If your professor hasn't provided you with a specific theme, it is up to you to decide what you want to write about. Your field of interest should become the main benchmark in picking up the right topic. Reflect on the books or literature aspects that you liked most of all while studying. The research process involves a lot of routine tasks, and if you are not interested in the subject, it will be much harder to stay focused. It is one of the reasons why experts suggest doing background research to ensure that you will not face issues with finding enough trustworthy information to back up your ideas. You can examine some critical literature to determine the most valuable perspectives to take as well as the gaps that you can potentially address in your dissertation. It will not be superfluous to create a well-crafted outline, so you have the required points in front of your eyes.
If you have selected a topic but are not sure about the exact title for your paper, you can come up with several working options. They may have a bit different focus but stay within one theme. In this case, you should keep both of them in mind when doing your research. Thus, it will be easy to make the right final choice. Even though there is no strict rule on how many primary texts a student must include in their dissertation, utilize at least two of them to make your arguments look more powerful. It is worth considering the cultural, historical, and theoretical background of a text to make sure it's reasonable and manageable for such a paper. Finally, you should develop a proper research question since it will guide the research and writing process. Keep it in mind all the time, so your paper can provide robust evidence of its significance.
Literature Topics for a Research Paper
Everyone who proceeds to work on a dissertation has tremendous experience under the belt in writing different papers. Thus, they know that choosing a broad theme is a road to nowhere since it's hard to devote enough attention to all key aspects and preserve the focus. It's worth resorting to special techniques aimed at helping you to narrow down the theme. Most of them suggest free writing within the subject, so you can define which one sounds the best. If you cannot opt for a theme, consider the following options:
- Correlation between English literature of the 18th and 19th centuries.
- How did the Renaissance affect English literature?
- Key differences between English literature in the USA and the UK.
- Fundamental writing methods of female writers of the 18th century.

How to Structure Your Literature Dissertation
When you decide on the most appealing dissertation topic in English literature, you can proceed to create the first draft of an outline. The latter will help you keep in mind all the crucial moments you should consider when writing your paper. In addition, most professors pay special attention to the structure of dissertations provided by students, so if you want to get the highest grade for your paper, don't forget to involve the following things:
- title page;
- acknowledgments;
- declaration;
- list of contents;
- introduction: you should present background information, project value, main research purposes and objectives, and the research question;
- literature review : presentation of relevant theories and analysis of literary works within the chosen theme to address the research question;
- methodology: presentation of data and analysis methods and tools utilized;
- findings and analysis: presentation of the crucial research results in detail with the help of visual tools like charts, tables, graphs, etc.;
- discussion and conclusion: presentation of personal interpretation of findings, demonstration of the connection between the results and arguments taken from the literature, highlighting of the research significance, and summarizing of the whole research, recommendations on the further development of the theme;
- references;
- bibliography;
- appendices: presentation of some additional pieces of information, graphs, diagrams utilized to complete your paper that stay beyond its body paragraphs. The main aim of this part is to broaden some data and provide additional explanations.
In fact, your professor should specify all the requirements for your dissertation, but if they have skipped some moments, it is better to clarify everything that stays unclear to you beforehand. Don't leave such things unattended since the final grade will affect only your academic performance and further career development.
English Language Dissertation Topics
English students are bright and highly creative. This means they tend to come up with brilliant ideas!
So, coming up with a dissertation topic should be easy, right?
Well, not necessarily.
Coming up with a topic can be stressful so you might try to avoid it. Alternatively, you might have hundreds of great ideas, but not know which one to settle on.
If that’s the case, then don’t worry. This article is here to help you move forward with choosing a topic for your dissertation – so let’s get started!
Sociolinguistics Dissertation Topics
Coming up with a topic, applied linguistics dissertation topics.
- Critical Perspectives for Language Students
Sociolinguistics is one of the most interesting aspects of English studies, especially in our modern, globalised world. Put simply, sociolinguistics is concerned with how social/cultural norms shape language. Since we are becoming increasingly globalised, there is a debate as to whether our culture and language systems are converging or diverging. Of course, there is no straightforward answer to this debate, and there is still much to learn about the link between society, culture, and language. Here are a few dissertation topics in sociolinguistics to get you started.
- Mapping the diachronic development of Disney Princesses: How is language used to portray femininity?
- ‘Well jel’!’ A sociolinguistic analysis of The Only Way is Essex.
- Are accents still being used to create alterity? A review of blockbuster films from 2019-2020. ‘
- Mapping second-generation immigrants’ usage of English within the family: When and Why?
- Politeness and official address (e.g., Sir, Madam, Teacher): A comparison between the UK and China.
- How do employees use and lose power in workplace meetings? A sociolinguistic analysis.
- Do males speak more frequently than females? A review of university seminars.
- Hedges in everyday speech: Why are we so uncertain?
- A sociolinguistic analysis of advertising for vegan products.
- A diachronic sociolinguistic analysis of cosmetics reviews 1950 – 2020.
- Polite participles in everyday speech: Is it a class thing?
- Building rapport via video conferencing: How does it differ from real-life?
- Analysing humour between native and non-native English speakers: How is it manifested?
- The language of love: universal or locally specific?
- A sociolinguistic analysis of comic book villains.
- The diachronic evolution of questioning.
Coming up with your own topic is no easy feat. Above all, it’s important to find a topic that interests you!
If you are an overseas student, you might find it interesting to compare language between the UK and your own country, for example.
So, let’s say you’re from China…
Research from Kaplan (1966) shows that native English speakers prefer to use deductive forms of discourse, whereas Chinese EFL speakers prefer inductive forms of discourse.
However, this research is quite out of date, and since many Chinese people have become English language learners since 1966 (and many now live in the UK), you might question whether this difference still persists…
And there you have it! A curious ‘gap’ in the literature that you can fill with your dissertation.
Need help coming up with a great dissertation topic? Our expert writers are on hand to assist.
The field of language and linguistics is sometimes accused of being a bit ‘abstract’. But, in truth, linguistics can be applied to the real world, and these applications hold a great degree of significance, not only for language learning but for wider society. That said, if you’re a practical and solutions-focused person, you might enjoy working on an applied linguistics dissertation. Here are a few titles to inspire you:
- Children’s adoption of intensifying adverbs: How early should it be encouraged?
- Becoming a non-native teacher of English: Key challenges and opportunities.
- Delivering safety training to non-native English speakers – How to test comprehension?
- Pre-school language formation: Should we actively seek to neutralise gender differences?
- Online language learning during COVID-19: Opportunities and challenges.
- Telling my story: Refugees’ journeys through language learning and resettlement.
- Supporting translators in mental health settings – does more need to be done?
- How to teach syntax? A critical review of the approaches.
- Collaborative writing in the ESL classroom.
- The role of ‘active reflection’ in ESL teaching and learning.
Critical Perspectives for Language Students
As part of your degree, you have probably come across critical theories such as Feminism, Postcolonialism, and Race Theory. If that’s the case, you could choose to draw upon one or more of these critical theories in your dissertation. Here are just a few titles to consider:
- How is language used to portray Disney heroes and heroines? A feminist perspective.
- Are job adverts fair and equal? A critical race theory perspective.
- English as the lingua Franca: Exploring the effects on indigenous populations.
- ‘Welcome back to my channel’ How are women creating identities and communities on YouTube? A feminist perspective.

Would you like to earn a capstone achievement to your degree?
If so, consider pursuing Honors.
What is the Honors Program?
The Honors Program in English is open to all undergraduate English majors regardless of career aspiration or post-graduation plans. Honors students have entered a wide variety of careers: medicine, law, business, marketing, journalism, industry, doctoral programs in English and other disciplines, teaching, and arts administration, to name a few. Students who complete the Honors Program are awarded the degree BAH (Bachelor of Arts with Honors).
The program involves intensive study of a research topic of your choosing supervised throughout your senior year by a faculty member and a graduate student mentor. With these one-on-one mentorships, you will produce a 40-60 page honors thesis and will develop supportive peer friendships with others in the Honors cohort. The Honors Program aims to be both an inspirational and aspirational forum for advanced literary study. It cultivates a lively intellectual environment within which you can test your ideas, germinate sophisticated critical approaches to historical and/or contemporary texts, and build interpretative, analytical and compositional skills that will have a lasting impact on your intellectual and professional life wherever the future takes you.
Interested students are invited to attend the English Honors Info Session on Thursday, February 29 at 12:00pm in the Terrace Room.
How do I apply?
Admission to the Honors Program is selective; the deadline for 2024-25 admission is Friday, April 19th, 2024 at 4pm .

How to think about Honors
Although students apply for honors in their junior year, if you are interested in the possibility of eventually applying, talk to your individual professors or the Honors Director, Alice Staveley, at any time during your undergraduate career from first year and beyond. Thesis topics are vast and various and can take many different forms. Think about what courses, writers, or ideas have most animated your imagination; what connections keep coming back for you across multiple platforms, inside or outside the classroom; what writers you have sampled and enjoyed, but whose lives and careers you wish to investigate more fully; parse the literary history or critical methods core courses to follow up with seminar courses that broaden your study of a particular theory, writer, theme, or historical period; take courses outside the department that might compliment your literary interests (for instance, a course on 19th century British history if you’re interested in the 19th century British novel, etc.). Drop by professors’ office hours! They are there waiting, eager, and willing to talk about any number of topics with you that, over time, may well become your thesis.
Literary texts do not live in a vacuum
They emerge from particular historical circumstances, they are influenced by earlier texts, and, if they are sufficiently strong, they change the literary tradition in which they are produced. That’s why our sequence of Historical Courses (English 10, 11, and 12) introduces you to some of the most important developments of English and American literature from its origins to the present.
A history of representing the self in words
Historical watersheds such as the invention of printing, the Protestant Reformation, the expansion of the British Empire, the Great War, and the creation of the internet; the rise and fall of genres such as romance, the epic, and the novel; the genesis of literary movements such as Humanism, Romanticism and Modernism -- all this and more is part of the story of English and American literature. By the time you have finished the historical sequence, you should have a good sense of what questions to ask yourself–and what contexts to research–when you read any text, from a Renaissance sonnet to a contemporary science fiction novel.
Harry Cunningham
Literary history in the big picture
In addition to our historical sequence, a pre-1800 course will offer indepth attention to a particular writer or historical question, or else will trace fundamental literary questions across a wide expanse of time, to highlight the nature and importance of historical change and the nature of literary development. How has the idea of a theater changed from the York Corpus Christi play (15th c.) to Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman (1949)? By encountering these and other topics, you should learn how the histories we tell depend on the questions we ask, the assumptions we bring to the historical record, and the archive we establish. You should also learn how much is at stake when we declare what is pre-modern, what is modern, and what is post-modern.
Mastering interpretive methods
Our methodology requirements, Poetry and Poetics and Narrative and Narrative Theory, introduce you to some of the most important interpretive methods we use to bring literary texts to life. In the first, you learn about poems as formal artifacts that tell their own history of human expression. In the second, you learn to think about story telling from a technical perspective. What is it? How does it work? How has it changed over time? In addition, a "Writing Intensive Seminar in English" (WISE) course will introduce you to a range of critical methods, while offering a writing-intensive experience in a small seminar environment. WISE courses also satisfy our Writing in the Major (WIM) requirement.

Vocabulary as one element of a language is very important to be mastered by language learners. The underlying assumption is that vocabulary is the muscles of a language. Thus, language learners should build up their vocabulary repertoire by employing various strategies. It has been revealed through research that learning strategies play a significant role in improving language-learning achievement. This means that language learners can develop their language skills, to include their vocabulary repertoire by applying a suitable strategy to achieve their learning purpose. In other words, learning achievement can be maximized by selecting and employing appropriate learning strategies. Although language learning strategies have been researched and widely discussed by a number of researchers, there is little research about learning strategies related to vocabulary. This research is a qualitative study which aims at identifying the category of English vocabulary learning strategies employ...

One of the most important challenges that learners face in second language learning is learning vocabulary. Vocabulary has been recognized as crucial to language use in which learners’ insufficient knowledge of vocabulary may lead to difficulties in their second language learning. Thus, in learning second language vocabulary, students need to be trained to use appropriate vocabulary learning strategies. This study examined vocabulary learning strategies(VLSs) used by Malaysian ESL students majoring in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at Universiti Putra Malaysia. It is important to note that this is a population which has been rarely included in any previous studies on vocabulary learning strategies. Based on the aim of this study, it was decided that the best method for this investigation and to better understand the use of VLSs by these students was to adopt qualitative research design. For this purpose, open-ended interviewswereconducted individually with eight studen...

In language learning, mastery of vocabulary is crucial. However, in Indonesia, where English is taught as a foreign language, vocabulary is often taught incidentally and given little priority. Due to the importance of vocabulary, a comprehensive language learning strategy is needed. As an example, vocabulary-learning strategies (VLS) can facilitate the development of vocabulary. This study aims at investigating VLS used by junior high school students in learning English. The data were collected by using Schmitt’s vocabulary learning strategies questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 31 statements administered to 50 junior high school students in the 8th grade at SMP N I Salatiga. Interviews were also conducted to obtain more information from the participants. The results show that the students choose practical, simple and fast strategies in learning vocabulary. Strategies such as checking if the word is also an Indonesian word, guessing the word’s meaning from the context, asking the teacher to give the definition, studying the word with their classmates, remembering the word by studying and paying attention to the word’s spelling, underlining the word, and using English media were frequently chosen in this study.

Language learners use Vocabulary Learning Strategies to learn new words or to consolidate the meaning of words they have already learnt. This paper presents findings of a study conducted to examine the vocabulary learning strategies (VLS) used by English as a second language (ESL) learners when learning English at tertiary level, in Sri Lanka. The aim of the study was to gain a better understanding of VLS used by ESL learners with the view of adopting better vocabulary teaching methods in the classroom. The study made use of a questionnaire, a vocabulary learning activity and a delayed post-test to obtain data. Schmitt’s (1997) taxonomy of vocabulary learning strategies was utilized in categorizing the data collected. The research brought to light the common strategies used by learners when learning the meaning of unfamiliar words in the target language and the strategies used by them when recalling the meaning of already learnt words. The results show that when students fall ba...

Vocabulary is extremely important for language learners. They will face difficulties learning a foreign language if their vocabulary knowledge is insufficient. The goal of this study is to find out which vocabulary learning strategies were used the most by third-year English majors and whether gender influenced their choice of vocabulary learning strategies. The participants are sixty-one English major students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, fifty-three of whom are female and eight of whom are male. The questionnaire is the testing tool, and it is divided into five categories: determination strategies, cognitive strategies, memory strategies, metacognitive strategies and social strategies. The findings indicate that participants favoured guessing the meaning from context and making a list of words and memorizing the most, while social tactics were the least common. Furthermore, gender has little impact on the preference of vocabulary learning techniques.

The Importance of a Good Senior Thesis Topic
Often, students don’t really understand just how important good senior thesis topics can be. Yes, they really do matter. And yes, the grade you get on your paper reflects the quality of the topic you choose. Here are some of the reasons why you should dedicate ample time to finding the best and most interesting senior thesis topics (or you could just pick one of ours, for free):
- Did you know that professors are bored of seeing the same old topics being used time and time again? Would you read 50 papers on the same topic every semester? Probably not. If you manage to come up with something new and interesting, you will immediately stand out from the crowd.
- A great senior thesis topic will surely win you some bonus points. At the very least, your professor will be more than happy to overlook some minor mistakes if he deems your paper to be interesting.
- Last, but not least, a good topic is one that you know at least something about. In other words, it will be easier for you to write a paper. Why spend an entire week trying to research something you don’t understand when you can spend just one day finding the relevant information about something you know?
Learn How to Choose a Senior Thesis Topic Quickly
Let’s face it: students don’t have much free time at their disposal. In other words, you may not have the necessary time to search for a topic for days. In many cases, students also postpone working on their senior thesis until it is too late. If you need to turn in the paper in two or three days, you definitely don’t have time to search for the best senior thesis topic. You can either choose a topic from our list or try to come up with one yourself. If you want to learn how to choose a senior thesis topic fast, here are some ideas that should be of great help:
- Give your local library or the campus library a try. Go through some journals or relevant works by renowned authors and try to find gaps in knowledge. You will surely find something that requires further research.
- Don’t have time to visit the library? You can find ideas or even senior thesis research paper topics by searching through online databases. These are just like brick and mortar libraries. You may, however, need to pay for a subscription.
- Another interesting way to get some topic ideas is to become active on relevant blogs and forums. Asking for some ideas politely will usually yield some surprising results.
- You can get in touch with an academic writing company. By getting in touch with an experienced academic writer, you will surely get some interesting ideas and even an entire list of original topics. Many of these companies, including ours, are not even expensive. Plus, you can get some additional help with writing the paper.
